Background Checks
MINIMUM INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR A BACKGROUND CHECK
In order to get a South Carolina criminal background check from SLED, you must know, at a minimum:
- the person's last name
- the person's date of birth
You should also ensure you have a working printer installed on your device.
The SC State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) provides criminal background checks. These checks only cover SC criminal records. National criminal records checks are also available, but only under certain circumstances. These checks cost $25 in most cases but certain charitable and government organizations are eligible for special pricing.
